Family Medicine Residency Program

At the heart of Vermont’s rural communities lies a unique opportunity to transform the future of health care. We are not just training family doctors; we are shaping the future of entire communities. Our mission is simple yet profound: to invest in passionate, talented family medicine residents who will grow, thrive, and eventually become the trusted physicians of tomorrow, providing care to generations of Vermonters to come.

Train Where Community Comes First

The Maple Mountain Vermont Family Residency Program offers a unique rural training experience across two vibrant community sites: Randolph, Vermont and Morrisville, Vermont.

Each site is home to an established family medicine practice within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and works in close partnership with a local community hospital. From the beginning of residency, you will build meaningful relationships with patients by managing your own continuity panel and providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Our innovative blended curriculum combines longitudinal community-based practice with dedicated specialty rotations, allowing residents to spend extended blocks immersed in a variety of clinical disciplines while maintaining continuity with their patients. You will care for individuals across the full spectrum of settings—including the hospital, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes—gaining the breadth and depth of experience needed for modern family medicine.

At Maple Mountain, residency is more than clinical training. From day one, you will practice as an essential member of the community, experiencing the rewards and responsibilities of rural family medicine while developing the skills to thrive as a community physician.
